Mark Dehority (Top)
Central Area VP: Illinois, Wisconsin

mark@dehority1.com

Mark Dehority

I am a prodigal son. Born into a good family and raised a Lutheran. I was active in church until I was married and them I left to spend my God given talents in the secular world. After thirty years of not being able to fill the hole in my heart, I let God back in. I am back. I believe God is calling me to bring men to Christ, through the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men’s Ministry.

We need to disciple ourselves and others. John Wesley offered us a view about the “Means of Grace” and “Spiritual Disciplines” that can be the path to spiritual growth, discipleship and evangelism. Daily practice provides us with blueprint for a life filled with acts of mercy (service), justice, devotion and worship. I believe that God has challenged every man to lead his family, his church, himself and others to Christ.

My wife and spiritual partner Lynnette and I live in central Illinois. We have (1) dog, (27) grandchildren, (9) children and a stray cat that lives in barn. Everyone is more or less listed in order of importance, except for me. I am trying to stay ranked ahead of the cat.

Scripture leading me now: “Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth, for you are my savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalms 25: 4-5 NIV

David McCleary (Top)
NCJ HRA

davidmccleary@yahoo.com

David McCleary                                                            July 2009

I have been married to my wife Mary (from Ohio) for 42 years.  We have 3 children living, one deceased and have eight grandchildren.  We attend Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, rural Warsaw, Indiana.  I have attended this small country church all 68 years of my life, as did my parents and both sets of grandparents. I was born and raised on the farm where we are currently living with my mother.  I was taught farming skills by my father, a 1933 Purdue agriculture graduate.  I graduated from Warsaw High School in 1959 (50th reunion this year) and Manchester College (15 miles south of farm) with a B.S. in Business and History in 1963.  I've had many jobs over the years, including retirement jobs since 2000.  My wife and I are now fully retired, and are caregivers for my 92 year old mother on her 241 acre farm.

For eight years, I was the Hunger Relief Advocate for the Society of St. Andrew in the North Indiana United Methodist Conference.  Presently, I'm the Indiana Conference SOSA H.R.A. (since the North and South Conferences merged) in my ninth year.

In 2000, I was asked by Brent Julian to become the North Indiana Rep for SOSA.  For 8 years Brent (we attended school and church together) was the N. IN. Conference U.M. Men's President.  Six months later I accepted the H.R.A. position.  I grew up on a farm, have a business degree from Manchester College, I'm a member of the United Methodist Church, and a committed worker and organizer.

Helping hungry people sounded like a terrific cause, and over the years having seen the great need at food agencies, helped intensify my passion for helping to feed the needy, in Jesus name.
